Learn the importance of psychological preparation, the use of anger as a positive force, and the verbal and physical skills which can be effective in stopping victimization. After taking this course, you will be able to assess a potentially dangerous situation, think clearly, and take appropriate action. The instructor, who teaches in the U.S. and in Japan, holds a Black Belt in Judo. She originated the self-defense curriculum at CSUS, and for the last ten years, has also taught teen safety to Loretto High School students. Ms. Marino was featured in the "Best of Sacramento" issue of Sacramento Magazine, and in a book called Sharp Spear, Crystal Mirror: Martial Arts in Women's Lives.
