October 14 and 15, 2005

 

 This year's conference focused on human trafficking issues. Highlights included:

  • Key note speaker Le Ly (Lay Lee) Hayslip, author of When Heaven and Earth Changed Places and Child of War, Woman of Peace. She is also the founder of the Global Village Foundation.
  • The movie “Daughters and Sons: Preventing Child Trafficking in the Golden Triangle”.
  • Presenters included Dr. Jude Antonyappan from the Sacramento State Dept. of Social Work, Dr. Prit Paul Kaur from Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy, Shireen Miles and Xin Ren, professor of Criminal Justice at California State University, Sacramento.
